lensquilt affo - Optical illusion

De lensquilt is klaar.. heb er nog hard aan gewerkt, zodat deze op onze tentoonstelling kon hangen.
Er was daar met name veel borduurwerk te zien...  Er was wel wat patchwork maar dan van de dames van onze patchwork bee.
Er is vier weken  geleden een patchworkcursus gestart in Marmaris maar daar waren nog geen werkstukken af natuurlijk.  De cursus wordt gegeven door Zehra http://touch-of-the-patchwork.blogspot.com/

The "optical illusion" is finished.  Just in time for a small exhibition.
Not a lot of patchwork there, more embroidery.
4 Weeks ago a patchworkcourse started by Zehra but off course no work finished in such a snall period, so next time there will be more patchwork to see.

Juni 2010 heb ik een affo gemaakt van de Red Delicious... en vergeten om hier een foto te plaatsen.... Al wel op andere plaatsen laten zien ... maar voor mezelf toch ook hier geplaatst.
Finished the "Red Delicious" in June 2010... but forgot to put a photo here... A lot of people have seen this one before..  

Red delicious - zwevende blokken

Morgen is het alweer 1 maart. De tijd vliegt voorbij. Witte katoen geverfd in de thee.. wil dit nu gaan gebruiken voor de achterkant van de "red delicious". Today the last day of February. Time is going fast. Coloured some white cotton in tea.. and will use this fabric for the reverse side of Red Delicious. Ben nog steeds bezig met de "zwevende blokken". Moet nog twee stroken naaien en daarna is de top af voor een 1 persoonsbed. Two more rows to go.. and than the floating blocks are big enough for a single bed De blokken van Red Delicious waren klaar... de top gewassen en daarna op het balkon aan de lijn te drogen gehangen. Toen ik het er later afhaalde zag ik tot mijn schrik dit. Het leek op een dikke inktvlek... Het blok losgehaald en een paar keer in de melk gelegd.. daarna werd de vlek steeds minder... Wat stukjes vervangen en daarna de top weer in elkaar gezet. Kan nu gaan beginnen met doorquilten. Made all the blocks of Red Delicous. Washed the top by hand and put it at the washingline at the balcony. Later when I took it.. a big shock. Wat happened??? I don,t know. Looked like ink.. so I removed the block.. put it a few times in milk.. the stain was getting smaller and smaller... slowly.. slowly. Removed some parts and made new ones.. And the top was ready AGAIN. Now I can start quilting.

Red Delicious - Angelstory

Twee blokken gemaakt van de "Red Delicious".

Hierboven "forest reds" en hieronder "Red roses".

De top van de Angelstory is klaar. De foto is niet erg duidelijk.. maar als de top is doorgequilt komt er een betere foto.

De laatste foto is een samengesteld blok wat ik nog niet had getoond.

The top of the Angelstory is finished. I will make a better photo when the quilting is finished.

Het derde blok "Love Apples" is ook klaar. Met dank aan Eugenie http://www.thequiltshow.com/os/myblog.php/member_no/1023184 voor haar rode lapjes.
Heb wat pitjes in de granaatappels geborduurd.. niet overal omdat ik het jammer vond van het rode stofje.

I made some pips in the pomegranates.. Of course I could make more.. but the fabric is so nice and don,t want to cover it with more.

red delicious blok 1 - Love birds

Het eerste blok is klaar. Heb zelf erg weinig rode stof dus ga de BOM maken in rood - wit en blauw. Een leuk blok om te doen en niet te veel werk.
Het tweede blok zal 15 december te downloaden zijn.

The first block is finished. I will make this BOM in red - white and blue because I don,t have a lot of red fabric. A nice block.. and not too many work.
December 15 block 2 will be on-line.

Mensen die de blokken willen uitprinten... zorg er dan voor dat je de nieuwste versie van ADOBE reader hebt geinstalleerd.

Every 15th day of the month a new block will be published.. sometimes more than 1 block a month so it will not take 12 month.
After a new block is published the older one will be removed.
The blocks are made in Needle turn applique, fusible applique and redwork.
